On to Utah

It has been years since I have been able to enjoy the holidays with my family.  I have lived away from home and/or had to work, so this year was a treat.  We celebrated Christmas early with Jake's family, then caught a plane on Christmas Eve to Salt Lake City.  I was excited to see my family, snow, wear my Ugg boots and feel the spirit of the holiday season.  We arrived to cold temperatures biting at our skin.  I loved it.  It felt like pure fresh air (the inversion hadn't set in yet).

Christmas morning was filled with family, present opening, good food and quality time.  We all worked together to make Christmas lunch and enjoyed a nice meal together.  It is tradition for my family to go to the movies on Christmas day, so after a late lunch we all went to see "Saving Mr. Banks".  Jake and I were exhausted from the time difference, all the traveling and being up late the night before, so we didn't see much of the movie.  The theater was packed and my family enjoyed the movie, while we dozed on and off through out the film.  We will have to rent it and watch it later.

The rest of the week was filled with a family tubing outing with my family, an open house for friends to come and visit (I didn't get pictures of this), then a bunch of outings with friends and family to spend time with everyone while enjoying some of our favorite things like… Cafe Rio, Aristro's, donuts, the mall and random things that we don't get in the Caribbean.   Here are some pictures from the week.

I wish that I would have been more diligent about taking pictures.  As I think back to the outings we had, I don't have pictures with some of our best friends that we hadn't seen in years, the baby shower I attended, or New Years!
We were really grateful to spend a good amount of time with family and friends that we don't see very often.  It was so nice to come to Utah to see some of the people we are closest to.  This trip really made us appreciate our oldest and dearest friends even more.  Thank you for a fun time everyone!
 XOXO Miss you already!
